An awareness Program on “Conservation of mango diversity” (mango plantation and distribution of plants) was organised by ICAR-CISH, Lucknow on 11-8-16. The programme was organised under Mera Gaoan Mera Gaurav (MGMG) programme being implemented by the institute. The mango saplings of heirloom varieties conserved by the Society for Conservation of Mango Diversity (SCMD), Kashmandi kalam, Malihabad were distributed among the more than 50 farmers of 15 villages adopted under MGMG programme. Dr S. Rajan, Director, ICAR-CISH, briefed about SCMD and its achievements. Shri. Ram Kishore, a community farmer also shared his experience about the community participation and its advantages. Programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by Shri. Pardeep Joshi (L&T) and the event sponsored by Smt B. Joshi, a volunteer on her birthday.
